Introducing the Data and Digital Government Strategy

The Data and Digital Government Strategy will outline the Australian Government’s vision for simple, secure and connected public services, for all people and business, delivered through world class data and digital capabilities.

By aligning the Australian Public Service’s data and digital agenda for the first time, the Strategy will support more joined-up delivery across Government.

Public consultation has now closed

The initial strategy was released on 9 May 2023. Public consultation was conducted in-person and online, from June through to July 25 2023.

The Australian Government heard feedback from members of the public, Australian Public Service employees, state and territory governments, industry and business, academia and community organisations. Thank you to everyone who engaged with us during this period.

We are now reviewing your feedback to finalise the Strategy and develop the first Implementation Plan.

Next steps

Your feedback is being used to finalise the Data and Digital Government Strategy.

The final Strategy is expected to be released before the end of 2023. It will be accompanied by the first implementation plan, to be updated annually, which outlines   practical initiatives that will achieve tangible progress towards the Australian Government’s vision.
